Our History

Fred and Char had a love for antiques and dreamed of one day opening an antique business of their own. They stumbled upon the Freelton antique market in 1996, a business consisting of a mix of antiques and one of a kind crafts. They began as vendors and within a year purchased the market

Beginning their dream in 1997, Fred and Char's antique market consisted of approx. 30 vendors. The market was open 4 days a week, Thursday through Sunday where you could visit and be welcomed by their smiling faces. Their love and knowledge of antiques quickly put Freelton on the map and as their friendly reputation grew, so did the market by welcoming over 100 additional vendors.

With the sudden passing of Fred in 2010, Char wanted to continue his passion for antiques and keep their dream alive. In 2011, before Char's own passing, their daughter Penny purchased the business and renamed it The Freelton Antique Mall. With a passion and drive like her parents, the mall business hours were increased to 7 days a week expanded to accommodate over 200 vendors. Voted every year as the best antique mall in the area, Penny has striven for and achieved a highly respected relationship and reputation with antique dealers. The Freelton Antique Mall is now filled with vendors who are the best in the business providing the best selection of quality antiques in the area
